Dear Yarrow Point Residents,
Happy New Year! Welcome New Neighbors!
I’m writing to provide an update for Yarrow Point residents on a few topics that affect everyone in our community. My contact information is below if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.
Undergrounding Utilities
Utilities contractors are working in parallel to bury utilities on 94th Ave NE, NE 40th Street and NE 38th St. We expect especially messy road conditions for six months between June and December. Residents will realize the project benefits when the poles are removed, including improved safety, aesthetics and views, as well as reduced vulnerability to weather related outages.
Eagles, Trees, and Development
Many residents have expressed concern about how our Town accommodates new development while also protecting existing eagle nests in trees on private property. The following link is an additional write-up with more details on this topic, including how you can have an impact on our Town’s Tree Code. Eagles Trees and Development
Development at South End of 95th
The development project at the south end of 95th Avenue has been under way for several years. The owner/contractor expects to complete the home in the September/October timeframe.
Sally’s Alley
Thank you again to the Yarrow Point volunteers serving on the Park Board! They are steadfastly working on the design for the East End of Sally’s Alley, which abuts the development property at the south end of 95th. The Park Board expects to complete Phase 2 by early fall (taking advantage of the contractors in Town for the undergrounding conversion).
Please contact Town Hall with questions regarding the underground conversion project, Sally’s Alley Improvements to our Points Loop Trail System, Eagles, our Tree Code, and anything else that is important to you. Thank you!
We encourage you to join our town email list for annoucements and important messages. Please call Town Hall or email the Deputy Clerk at [email protected] to be added to the list.
Happy New Year!
